How to Measure Your Upside
Seated Measurement Position
1. Make sure you're wearing a shoe that's typical of what you wear every day
2. Sit in your chair and adjust the seat height so your feet are flat on the floor.
3. Keep an upright posture with your upper arms close to your sides and elbows bent at 90º. Your forearm should be resting on the armrests of your chair with your fingers on the keyboard.
4. Have someone measure from the floor to the bottom of your elbow.
5. Subtract 1 inch from the measurement taken in step 4. This is the approximate height your work surface should be for your best ergonomic posture.
Standing Measurement Position
1. Make sure you're wearing a shoe that's typical of what you wear every day
2. Stand in an upright position with your upper arms close to your sides and your elbows bent at 90º, with your fingers on the keyboard.
3. Have someone measure from the floor to the bottom of your elbow.
4. Subtract 1 inch from the measurement taken in step 3. This is the approximate height your work surface should be for your best ergonomic posture.
